  1. Soy Wax
    • Best for: Jar candles, container candles, wax melts.
    • Characteristics: Eco-friendly, clean-burning, soft texture, great for holding fragrance.
    • Not ideal for: Pillar candles (too soft without additives).
  2. Coconut Wax
    • Best for: Jar candles, container candles, luxury candles.
    • Characteristics: Smooth, creamy finish, excellent scent throw, highly sustainable.
    • Not ideal for: Pillar candles (requires blending for structure).
  3. Sunflower Wax
    • Best for: Blends with other waxes for added hardness in jar or pillar candles.
    • Characteristics: Natural and renewable, offers structure when blended.
    • Not ideal for: Solo use (usually blended with soy or coconut).
  4. Palm Wax
    • Best for: Pillar candles, votives, textured candles.
    • Characteristics: Creates unique crystalline patterns, firm and durable for freestanding candles.
    • Not ideal for: Jar candles (can be brittle).
  5. Rapeseed Wax
    • Best for: Pillar candles, jar candles, container candles.
    • Characteristics: Renewable, clean-burning, holds its shape well, good for freestanding and container candles.
    • Not ideal for: Rapid cooling processes (may crack without proper curing).

Tips:

  • For pillar candles, prioritize harder waxes like palm or rapeseed.
  • For jar candles, softer waxes like soy or coconut are ideal.
  • Blending waxes (e.g., soy with sunflower or palm) can improve texture, burn quality, and durability.
